Cogeneration units (CGU)
What does the cogeneration mean?
Cogeneration is combined production of thermal and electric power in facilities, called
cogeneration units. Cogeneration units are electric power supply aggregates driven by an
engine operating on gas (e.g. natural) and a system of exchangers for contemporaneuous
production of electric energy and heat.
Why do we think over the application of the cogeneration units?
If we compare these facilities with the separated production of thermal
and electric power, well find out, that cogeneration units have
30-40% higher effeciency of utilization of the power sources (gas, oil).
So the cogeneration units are more ecological (we need less fuel for
production of the same quantity of energy) and they are more economic in
well-prepared suggestion (the investments put into the building up cogeneration
unit are returning step by step in cheaper production of energies).
Possibilities of utilization of the cogeneration units
- thermal supply - heating, tempering, technological purposes, supporting heating
of the going warmwater heating
- electric power supply - for co-operation with the net, for transmissing into the net,
for personel usage, as back-up power supply for net-dropout
